SERRA'S MOALA SIGNS WITH ARIZONA STATE

David Moala, a defensive lineman from Serra High School, has signed a national football letter of intent with Arizona State.
The 6-foot-1, 285-pounder is rated the No. 97 defensive tackle in the nation by Scout.com and the No. 110 overall prospect in California by SuperPrep.
He posted 201 tackles and 31.0 sacks over two seasons for the Cavaliers, who won consecutive Southern Section championships. He had 91 tackles (55 solo) and 18.5 sacks with one interception in 2010.
Moala, who chose ASU over Miami (Fla.), also had offers from Colorado, Colorado State, San Diego State and San Jose State.
“The thing that really impressed me the most (about ASU) was how serious the players were preparing for the season,” Moala said on the Sun Devils website. “I liked how the (Sun Devils’) defensive line played hard, fast and nasty.”
