HIGH SCHOOL: Tonga comes to NM State after playing four years (2006-09) at Kahuku High and Intermediate in Kahuku, Hawai'i. As a junior in high school, Tonga led her team to a 19-1 record and a third-place finish in a tough Hawai'i state tournament. In her time at Kahuku High and Intermediate, she was named Red East Division Player of the Year, OC-16 Impact Player, OC-16 Senior Invitational Player of the Year, while also being named a Honolulu Star Bulletin Fab-15 selection. PERSONAL: Tonga is the daughter of Tevita and Afi Tonga and was born in Redondo Beach, Calif. She is undecided in a major. |
