THE RECORD
Rodgers played well during the regular season, throwing 28 touchdown passes and 11 interceptions. And in the playoffs, he has thrown six touchdown passes and two picks, both in the frigid cold of Chicago. Weather won't be a problem Sunday with the roof of Cowboys Stadium closed, and consider that Rodgers went 31-for-36 for 366 yards and three touchdowns with a 136.8 passer rating in similar conditions at Atlanta in the divisional playoffs. He also is adept at escaping the pocket, with rushing touchdowns against the Falcons and Bears. Rodgers is often at his best when he is freelancing, as is Polamalu, who likes to line up in a myriad of spots, the better to disguise his intentions. Polamalu, the AP's NFL Defensive Player of the Year, has been quiet during the playoffs, with no impact plays in two games. Perhaps he still is recovering from an Achilles injury, which sidelined him for two weeks late in the regular season. But with an extra week to prepare after the conference finals, he should be ready to roll here, and figures to more closely resemble the player who has 17 interceptions in the last three seasons, including seven in 2010.
