Warriors get 4 commitments

January 23rd, 2011
By Stephen Tsai
The Warriors today received commitments from:
• Justin Vele, an all-state defensive end from Farrington High. Vele said he made a "soft" commitment to the UH coaches this morning. He is related to former Warriors Vince Manuwai of the Jacksonville Jaguars and Wayne Hunter of the New York Jets.
• Tavita Woodward, a defensive end/linebacker from Eastern Arizona. Woodward played at Kahuku High and McKinley High. He has three seasons of eligibility.
• Chinedu Amadi, a wideout who goes by his middle name of Promise. He is from Chino High, Greg Salas' alma mater.
Whoops, also add:
• Kendrick Van Ackeren, a safety from Bellevue (Wash.) High. Van Ackeren was the Seattle Times' 3A Defensive Player of the Year for the state of Washington. Van Ackeren told the Warrior Beat he will play weakside linebacker at UH.
