Deddiy AlaimaleataLewis-Clark State College’s Deddiy Alaimaleata, a 6-foot-1 junior right-side hitter and middle blocker from American Samoa, was honored as the Frontier Conference’s Volleyball Player of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.
Alaimaleata, who earned second-team junior college All America honors last season at New Mexico Military Institute, had an outstanding week in leading the NAIA’s 11th-ranked Warriors to a pair of road victories to start conference action. In the two matches Alaimaleata averaged 4.13 kills, a .554 hitting percentage, .75 digs, and .38 block assists per game. In the win over Carroll, she had 13 kills and a .44 hitting percentage, along with five digs, four assists, and two block assists. She then had a match-high 20 kills and a .655 hitting percentage in the win over RMC.

The Warriors resume action this week with three matches at the LCSC Activity Center.  On Tuesday night, the Warriors face Whitworth at 7 p.m., following the high school contest between Lewiston and Clarkston. Tuesday’s match is designated as “Dig Pink” and for everyone wearing pink to the match, the LCSC athletic department will donate $1 to the Dig Pink Foundation for breast cancer awareness.

On Thursday, the Warriors play host to Montana Tech at 7 p.m. and free tickets to the match are available at all Happy Day locations. Saturday’s 2 p.m. contest with Montana Western is set up to help the YWCA in Lewiston as anyone bringing two cans of food will be admitted free.
