Naomi Amu Utah Utes Softball

Amu Notes: Returns to Utah pitching staff with team's lowest ERA from last season ... dropball reaches 66 to 68 miles per hour ... entering only her second season as full-time pitcher ... offensively, she brings incredible power to the plate.

2011: Made 14 starts and 36 appearances in the circle ... went 8-9 on the season ... finished fourth in the Mountain West Conference with a 2.97 ERA ... opponents hit .297 against her, which was the seventh-best mark in the league ... totaled 120.1 innings, the eighth-most in the MWC ... struck out 93, which took seventh in the conference ... threw five complete games ... did not allow an earned run and only three hits in 4.2 innings at No. 13/10 Arizona State (2/12) ... yielded only one earned run in eight innings against Long Beach State (2/24) for first career complete game ... picked up first career victory against Nevada (2/19) ... struck out six in seven-inning complete-game effort against Southern Utah (3/9) ... threw back-to-back complete games against Princeton and at George Mason (3/22) ... gave up only four hits and one earned run in 1-0 loss to the Tigers ... threw one-hitter and did not allow an earned run against the Patriots to go along with season-high-tying seven strikeouts ... also struck out seven against Hampton (3/19) ... in 7.0 innings of work in the second game of a doubleheader against Boise State (3/30), gave up five hits and only one earned run ... picked up first career save at New Mexico (5/5) after pitching perfect seventh frame, including two strikeouts ... hit .227 with two extra-base hits (double and home run) and six RBI ... hit first career home run in second game of doubleheader against Weber State (4/6) ... went 2-for-3 with a double and run scored against Western Michigan (2/11) ... scored three runs against Hampton (3/19).
