American Samoa Is Producing Some Serious Athletes By Big Cat | August 29th, 2011

The tiny nation is better known for producing football and wrestling stars.

But American Samoa has never produced any winning sprinters.

That didn’t stop 17-year-old Sogelau Tuvalu competing in one of the 100metre heats at the world athletics at Daegu, South Korea.

The teenager was twice the size of the other six competitors and was the only athlete not wearing spikes on his shoes, risking a false start.

I always thought American Samoa was football players and that Jamaica and Kenya were the runners. Guess Not. American Samoa bringing the NOISE to the track and field competition.
