2010 (Senior): Fakalata played in just one game for the Aggies in 2010 before suffering a season-ending injury. Against San Diego State (Sept. 11), Fakalata recorded five knockdowns, giving up no sacks. Fakalata will receive a medical redshirt to play in 2011.
2009 (Redshirt Junior): At the right guard position, Fakalata started in every game for NM State during the 2009 season. Fakalata earned a total of 70 knockdowns on the season. He had 21 in the last three games and earned a season-high 13 against Prairie View A&M (9/12), helping NM State to a 21-18 victory. He was a pivotal part in helping running back Seth Smith to be the first Aggie to rush for 1,000 yards since the 2000 season. Fakalata helped the Aggie offense average 229.3 yards per game and a season total of 2,981 offensive yards. He gave up five sacks on the season. As a team, the Aggies gave up just 23 sacks in 2009; half of what the NM State offense allowed in 2008. Fakalata earned his best offensive line grade in a single game with 76 percent against Nevada (11/21) and Hawai'i (11/14).
2008 (Junior): Fakalata received a medical redshirt in 2008 after suffering a shoulder injury in 2007.
2007 (Sophomore): Fakalata played in all 13 games for NM State at nose tackle, starting one game against San Jose State (11/10). On the season, he tallied 20 tackles, three tackles-for-a-loss and two sacks for a loss of eight yards. Versus Nevada (11/2) on national television, Fakalata recorded a season-high five tackles and his first sack of the season. He followed that performance with a three-tackle effort against San Jose State (11/10) and Utah State (11/17). Fakalata also recorded three games with at least two tackles.
2006 (Freshman): Fakalata competed in 11 games, starting one on the defensive line.  He recorded 17 tackles, six solo and 11 assisted.  He also drew one forced fumble, two quarterback sacks, broke up a pass and had two tackles-for-a-loss of four yards.  Against UTEP (10/30), he recorded a season-high four tackles.  Versus Idaho (10/7), he totaled three tackles, a tackle-for-a-loss of three yards, forced a fumble and created a quarterback sack.  He also broke up a pass against Hawaii (10/21), and versus Texas Southern (9/16) Fakalata tallied another quarterback sack.
High School: Fakalata was a second team all-conference selection for St. Francis High School in 2005. He tallied 45 tackles and five sacks during his junior season on the defensive line. He also played center as a junior. Fakalata was then moved over to the offensive side of the ball permanently in 2005 due to injuries on the team. During both his junior and senior seasons, Fakalata helped his team to a 9-3 overall record and the state semifinals. Fakalata was also recruited by San Jose State and California.
Personal: Fakalata is the son of Sione and Patisua Fakalata. He is majoring in criminal justice.
