Rivals.com's Tom Dienhart and OrangeBloods.com both reported that Duane Akina has left the University of Texas for the UA, and could be named the Wildcats' secondary coach as soon as tomorrow.
Akina spent the last 10 seasons as Texas' secondary coach, co-defensive coordinator and associate head coach under Mack Brown.
Akina spent 14 previous seasons (1987-2000) at the U of A as an assistant under head coach Dick Tomey.
The hiring of Akina follows the selection of former BYU offensive coordinator Robert Anae as offensive line coach last week.
