CINCINNATI — A Cincinnati Bengals linebacker accused of punching a bar manager was back in court on Thursday.Rey Maualuga was arrested in February and pleaded not guilty to assault.Sammy Laham, a general manager at Luxe, said Maualuga punched him in the face on Feb. 5 during an argument.On Thursday, the sides said they would engage in private mediation, where an agreement could allow Maualuga to avoid any jail time.The judge said both sides have until late April to work out a deal. Neither Laham nor Maualuga had any comment after the hearing.News 5′s Andrew Setters will have the latest on this story later Thursday.
