Freshman fullback Maika Polamalu was carted off the field toward the end of practice Monday with an injury that seemed to concern head coach Ken Niumatalolo. Polamalu was grimacing in obvious pain as he was driven back to the football building in a golf cart by Dr. Jeff Fair, the team trainer. Polamalu was spotted later outside Ricketts Hall with an ice pack wrapped around his foot and using crutches to get around.
