Baltimore Ravens defensive tackle Haloti Ngata(notes) could be a free agent soon. He had 63 tackles and 5.5 sacks this season and NFL.com reports that theteam is going to franchise him for at least one more season of work.The site reports that the team would like to sign him to an extension but that can't happen without a new collective-bargaining agreement. Once a CBA is in place, Ravens GM Ozzie Newsome will attempt to sign him long-term, the site reports.
The 25-year-old two-time Pro Bowler joined the Ravens in 2006 when he was picked 12th overall in the NFL Draft out of Oregon.
